I don't know how obvious it is to the average person so I'm just going to say it: crack is cocaine. Normally having to explain a joke is a good indication that it is'nt very good, but I had to make an exeption; I don't think that a straight-edged person would necessarily have known otherwise. Actually, just to be more precise: crack is a kind of cocaine in crystal form, and can be smoked or injected as opposed to snorted. Its less pure than freebase cocaine and has a less intense rush, but the subsequent high lasts longer. Crack is also more freequently cut with cheaper chemicals so it is less pure. The white powder that you see in movies is pure freebase cocaine and is much more expensive than crack (actually, the white powder you see in movies is probably flour, but you get the idea). Crack happens to be much safer to make because it does not require corrosive or explosive chemicals to purify it.
